Eligibility and Duration

To be eligible to apply to the University of Calgary, you will need a four-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 system. You will also need to take an English language test, with a minimum score of 86 on TOEFL, or 6.5 on IELTS. They also accept PTE and CAEL scores.

Apart from these minimum requirements, each program will have specific requirements that you can find on its website. You can opt to study a course-based or thesis-based master’s program. The former is completed in 1-2 years and the latter takes 2-4 years.

Courses offered and admission process

The University of Calgary offers several different master’s programs for a range of disciples. Some of them include architecture, anthropology, biology, chemistry, computer science, geography, drama, Greek and Roman studies, and veterinary sciences.

To apply, you first need to create an eID on the University of Calgary website. You can then fill in the application form with your personal details, academic history, test scores, and contact details of referees. You will also be asked certain program-specific questions. The application fee is $125.
