NCUK Pathways for International Students

We recently did a deep dive into pathway programmes and their benefits. We looked at the merits of doing one and also the popular ones to know.

Today we’re looking at NCUK, one of the popular pathway programmes.

Here’s all about it…

A quick background

NCUK -The university consortium was established in 2003 by the Northern Consortium, a well-known educational charity foundation. The prime focus of NCUK is the betterment and assistance of intentional students and works towards the student’s ambitions, not just at the university level but also with the placements and career opportunities.

NCUK specialises in offering university pathway programs, services for international students, and all kinds of support through its global network of study centres.

The Northern consortium is founded by a group of leading universities, which are:

  • The University of Bradford,
  • Leeds Beckett University
  • Sheffield Hallam University
  • Liverpool John Moores University
  • The University of Leeds
  • The University of Salford
  • The University of Sheffield
  • The University of Manchester
  • The University of Huddersfield
  • Manchester Metropolitan University

NCUK associated universities:

  • Kingston University London
  • The University of Birmingham
  • Aston University
  • Queen Mary University of London
  • University of Kent
  • University of Bristol
  • Aston University

The Northern consortium is the parent organisation of the NCUK, and the qualification at the NCUK and the pathway programs by the NCUK is recognised by almost all the other universities in the UK, USA, New Zealand, Canada, and many other countries.

The flexible study plan makes NCUK unique; as an international student, you can study in your own country or even at a study centre in the UK or Europe. At the study centre, programs are taught by the best partners of the NCUK, who are experts in their fields.

Suppose you pass a program by the NCUK. In that case, you are guaranteed a seat at one of the universities affiliated with the NCUK, and NCUK has helped over 30,000 international students to gain guaranteed access to universities. Once you complete a program by the NCUK, there are over one thousand degree programs to choose from, from the Arts, Humanities, and Law to Engineering, Science and Technology through to Business, Finance and Marketing.

There are over a hundred Study Centres in more than thirty countries for the students to choose from. The courses offered by NCUK are of high standards that prepare international students for the upcoming university study. NUCK also has a university admission and placement team which works towards helping international students through all the stages of the university application process and placements.

Most popular NCUK programs include English for academic purpose, study skills, and language-related courses, which focuses mainly on the betterment of the language skills of international students. The English language program also provides language skills and the cultural support needed for international students as they prepare themselves for university life and a new chapter of their lives. Such programs are considered the catalyst agent that helps in cultural adaptation. This is regarded as one of the most important reasons why international learners choose to do a pathway program before entering a new county or a university.
